Historical Enquiries

Greenwich Hospital historical records are held at The National Archive (TNA). There is no electronic listing at the Archive and researchers who wish to examine the Greenwich Hospital archive may need to make a personal visit, quoting the ”ADM” prefix in their research. The ADM stands for Admiralty.

The Greenwich Hospital archive comprises in-pensioners registers, Royal Hospital School admittance registers, some birth registers for Greenwich, estate records, details of bequests to the Hospital and the minutes of meetings of the Greenwich Hospital commissioners, Advisory Panels, Advisory Board, and the Royal Hospital School Board of Governors.
